Perched high above the stunning Akaroa Harbour, Onuku Heights is an enchanting retreat, just five kilometers from Akaroa's bustling main street, and yet a world away. The only property for miles, this charming homestead, nestled in an orchard and expansive gardens on our 800 acre farm, is much more than a B&B. It is a sanctuary to delight your senses, where elegance and natural splendour come together, a chance for you and your loved one to capture that perfect moment of sheer bliss.

Our spacious rooms have been tastefully refurbished, furnished with antiques, top quality king-size beds and exquisite en-suite bathrooms. Relish in the luxury of fine thread linens, exclusive organic soaps, plush bathrobes, and the conveniences of silent room heating, state of the art Tivoli radios, and wireless internet access. Our two guestrooms within the homestead, the Rose Room and the Green Room, have majestic sea views. The romantic, sunny Cottage Room, overlooking the fragrant rose garden, has its own private entrance, and is adorned with a comfortable couch and table with tea and coffee facilities, allowing for a private breakfast to be served within the room or alfresco.

Enjoy your time here without any distractions. Indulge yourself at the secluded pool, heated to a lovely 32 degrees. The pool area is clothes-optional if you like. Soak up the sun, listening to the trickling fountain and the soothing birdsong, or spend a balmy evening at the open fire and take a dip under the moonlight. Take an exhilarating ride on our horses or take a leisurely stroll and savour in your own romantic picnic at one of the many idyllic spots on the property, and marvel at the most spectacular views on Banks Peninsula.

Cuddle up on the plush sofas with a fine Mohair throw in front of the fireplace in the evenings in our cozy guest lounge, designed for your comfort and indulgence and well stocked with a fine selection of music, books and magazines. Light the candles, make a toast with a complimentary bottle of Champagne, and enjoy your intimate night together by the fire.

Other than our friendly, discreet and unobtrusive staff, you will find your stay a secluded getaway with total and complete privacy. We are happy to arrange for you any activity that you may desire, from reservations at one of Akaroa’s fine restaurants or pampering at the local luxury day spa, to boat cruises or swimming with the dolphins. Our house can accommodate up to three couples, so we invite you to celebrate your special weekend either just the two of you, or with your friends. We cater to any special requests or privacy requirements, which can all be arranged via email or telephone.
